So, finally had a decent harvest of my hops, about 250g of hop flowers. Smelt amazing picking them.
Just wondering how other home growers use their hops in their home brew.
I have just used 30g of my home grown hop flowers in a 10 min boil to get rid of any nasties but would like to dry hop in a chux clothe around day 4 of any ferment ( ala the Hop Slam NZ recipe ).
Anyone had any infection issues? As these flowers have been out in the lovely sunshine all summer I am a bit worried of an infection.
Commercial hops aren't boiled or sanitised in any way before they're used in your brews so you'll be fine. Was the 250g harvested the wet weight or the dried weight?
