Waste Management

Since 2005, Coopers has reduced its amount of waste going to landfill by 40%, by segregating all recyclables and non-recyclable waste, and through staff education. All glass and cardboard used in packaging is 100% recyclable, and all suppliers are required to adhere to recycling covenants. Coopers recycles more than 15,000 tonnes of spent grains and protein wastes by selling them as stock feed, and also enjoys a beneficial arrangement with a Japanese distillery which purchases about 270 tonnes of surplus live yeast each year.

We are a signatory to the Australian Packaging Covenant and you can learn about the APC in the video below and view our APC Action plan by clicking HERE.
