Adelaide Fringe will take over the city for 31 summer days and balmy nights from 14 February to 16 March 2014.
The annual open-access festival brings together more than 4,000 artists from around Australia and across the globe, in a program bursting with world premieres, hit shows and new artists.
Over 900 events will be staged in pop-up venues in parks, warehouses, lane-ways and disused buildings as well as established venues such as theatres, hotels, art galleries and cafes. Audiences will be entertained by artists in genres spanning cabaret, comedy, circus, dance, film, theatre, puppetry, music, visual art and design.
Unlike a curated event, the open-access nature of Adelaide Fringe means that anyone with a show, exhibition or cultural event is able to register and be part of the festival. The result is one of the most diverse arts festivals in the world, renowned for fresh ideas, spontaneity and fun.
For independent artists, Adelaide Fringe is an inspirational environment to showcase their work.
For audiences, it’s an opportunity to see exciting and entertaining contemporary work in an atmosphere that encourages taking a chance and seeing and discovering something new.
