Coopers Cheers to ALIA Awards Success

Coopers Brewery has good reason to say ‘cheers’.

The Australian family-owned brewer took out best Liquor Brand of the Year and best Full Strength Beer for Original Pale Ale at the 20th annual Australian Liquor Industry Awards (ALIA) event, held at Sydney’s Luna Park on Wednesday night (23 October).

The brewery was also named Best Marketed Beer or Cider Brand.

Coopers distribution company Premium Beverages wasn’t left out – being awarded the top gong for best Off-Premise Liquor Supplier of the Year.

Full list of award wins include:

  • Winner, Liquor Brand of the Year (Coopers)
  • Winner, Full Strength Beer (Coopers Original Pale Ale)
  • Winner, Best Marketed Beer or Cider Brand (Coopers)
  • Winner, Off-Premise Liquor Supplier of the Year (Premium Beverages)

Coopers Original Pale Ale has won ALIA’s best full-strength beer category six out of the past seven years.

This is the first year that Premium Beverages has received a major ALIA award.

The ALIA Awards, hosted annually by National Liquor News, Australian Hotelier and bars and clubs Magazine, honour and celebrate the top performers in Australia’s liquor industry over the past 12 months.

The awards night attracts more than 800 leading suppliers, retailers, hoteliers and bartenders.

Coopers National Marketing Director Mr Cam Pearce said the award wins were a satisfying result for both Coopers and Premium Beverages.

“To once again have Coopers Original Pale Ale honoured as Australia’s best full-strength beer – and to be named liquor brand of the year against all other beer, wine, spirit and ready-to-drink categories – is a truly fantastic achievement.

“And it doesn’t stop there – Premium Beverages has also come out on top in one of ALIA’s major award categories.

“Both teams at Coopers and Premium Beverages must be highly congratulated on Wednesday night’s award win successes– this is a testament to their ongoing dedication and efforts.

“We are proud to know the Australian liquor industry holds us all in such high regard.”
