Coopers Alehouse at Sydney Airport receives International Award

The Coopers Alehouse at Sydney Airport’s T2 domestic terminal has been named the International Airport Bar of the Year at the 2014 World FAB awards in Copenhagen.

The FAB awards, announced this week, are the only international airport-specific food and beverage awards and this year attracted a record field of 200 entries from around the world.

Coopers Marketing Director, Mr Cam Pearce, said receiving international recognition for the Sydney Airport Coopers Alehouse was a real vote of confidence in the bar concept.

“We opened the Sydney Airport Coopers Alehouse in August last year following the success of the Coopers Alehouse we have been operating at the Adelaide Airport since 2005,” he said.

“We thought the concept would appeal in Sydney and it is indeed pleasing to see that it has been considered world standard.”

The Sydney Coopers Alehouse is operated by Emirates Leisure Retail Australia, owners of Hudsons Coffee and various other bars and cafes at major Australian airports.

It offers Coopers’ products exclusively.

Mr Pearce said Coopers would look at similar offers in the future.

Emirates Leisure Retail Australia Managing Director, Mr Adam Summerville, said Coopers was a great Australian brand and partner.

“The Coopers Alehouse and Hudsons Coffee concept brings a new level of product offering, ambience and service to the airport,” he said.

“We’re confident we’re setting a new standard in enhancing the overall experience for customers passing through the airport, both on this project and our other international offerings through the ELR group.”

Sydney Airport General Manager Retail, Mr Glyn Williams said the addition of Coopers Alehouse to T2 last year had further enriched Australia’s busiest and most vibrant terminal.
